Shakopee shortstop Elizabeth Bade tries for two

Senior Elizabeth Bade is the starting shortstop for Shakopee's softball team. She would like nothing better than to cap her prep career with one last trip to the state tournament.

An appearance in the state softball tournament would mark her second state tourney trip of the school year. She was the libero on Shakopee's state tournament volleyball squad.

Bade is also a member of the Sabers' dance team. Here is a look at Bade:

Three words or phrases my friends or teammates might use to describe me? Clumsy; outgoing; major.

Three songs I never skip on my iPod are ... "Remind Me" by Brad Paisley; "Skyway Avenue" by We The Kings; "Skyscraper" by Demi Lovato.

What are your three favorite apps? Unfortunately, I am not one of the lucky ones to have a smartphone, but thanks to Bea Lawson, Bubble Shooter is my obsession.

How did you get started in sports? Mostly my parents, but also playing with my brother, Alex, when I was little.

At my first varsity practice, I felt ... a little nervous and so young compared to everyone else.

What do you work on most in the offseason? I don't really have an offseason because I participate in volleyball in the fall, dance team in the winter and softball in the spring.

What is your favorite meal before an event? Subway and an apple juice.

To get focused for an event, I ... eat, listen to music, and give myself a little pep talk.

Who is your school's biggest rival, and why? Chanhassen because they are in our conference and the games are always competitive.

How do you balance school and sports during the year? I try to use my time wisely, especially study halls.

If you could change one thing about high school sports, what would it be? Make games cheaper for students to watch.

When you have time off during vacation, what do you like to do? Read, watch 'Gilmore Girls' and hang out with friends.

Who is your favorite college or pro sports team and why? Minnesota Gophers because I have been watching them since I was a little girl and I am attending the University of Minnesota next year.

In 10 years, I hope I'm ... married, completing residency and have a chocolate Lab named Rory.
