Soderholm, Kaari Marie 08/10/1965 - 04/18/2024, 58, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was a devoted mother, wonderful wife, loyal daughter, sister, friend to many, and dedicated to her family. Kaari is survived by her husband Theodore Rogers, 3 children, Abigail, Katherine, and Samuel, parents David and Adair Soderholm (Tschache), sister Jennie Kawaters (Chris), aunts Shirley, Marcia Soderholm (Page) Janet VanHandel (Jerry), brothers-in law Richard (Vickie), Christopher (Debra), and Timothy (Karen) Rogers, and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews. Born in Minneapolis, Kaari graduated from Washburn H.S. in 1983, attended Luther College, and graduated from UMass. One of her favorite memories and a life-altering experience, was backpacking around Europe in her early twenties. Visiting Boston on her return, she met her future husband, Ted, and the rest is history. In Boston she helped manage No Kidding, an innovative toy store in Brookline. Kaari and Ted lived in Boston for 14 years before moving back to Mpls with 2 year-old Abby, 2 cats and Katherine on the way. Spending summers at the family cabin and vacationing on Cape Cod were times Kaari cherished. She enjoyed traveling, meeting interesting people, visiting new places and helping living creatures-a turtle on the road or an injured squirrel in her back yard. Kaari was kind and beautiful throughout, with sense and sensibilities. A unique person, loved by many-her love for her children was steadfast. She raised them to be empathetic and stoic, embodying these traits herself. She exuded calmness and strength-living her life with dignity, vitality and determination. She will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Bond Between, the 501(c)3 non-profit organization that helped bring her family their two wonderful rescue dogs, Wrigley and Ruby. Please come honor Kaari's life with us on Monday, June 10, 2024, visitation at 10:00 service at 11:00, Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church (5025 Knox Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55419). Reception to follow.
