Karon Ann Alcott, of Victoria, Minnesota, died peacefully while surrounded by family and friends on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, after an injury from a fall. Karon was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on October 25, 1942, to Aaron and Grace Knopik. She lived her growing-up years on the shores of Lake Minnetonka in Deephaven and Tonka Bay. She loved regaling stories of driving her speedy hydroplane on the lake. An enthusiastic student of the Minnetonka High School, Karon was thrilled to be chosen as a Homecoming Princess and humbled years later when asked by one of her young granddaughters whether that meant she was once pretty. Karon's life as a Saint Cloud College coed was set aside when she married Richard Davis in 1961 and became the mother of two daughters, Richelle (Corbin), and Amanda (Wittenberg), and a son, Brennan Davis. Karon focused her boundless energy on raising her family, embracing a mother earth lifestyle of organic, home-made foods and remedies. Karon met her partner, Todd Alcott, in 1976, and they were married in 1996. Karon had successive careers as a costume seamstress for the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre, a buyer for K-mart, an agent for Edina Realty, and at the age of 51, she graduated from Hennepin Technical Institute as a nurse. Her nursing career eventually led her to become "Karon the Nurse" for the Edina Kinderberry Hill child care. There, surrounded by adoring children and their appreciative parents, she coupled her nursing skills with her engaging and loving personality. When Karon learned that a granddaughter was coming to Amanda, her nearest daughter in Excelsior, she decided to retire and become the newest grandbaby's daily Nanny. Karon was very active in the local quilting and rug hooking crafting communities, creating many beautiful quilts and rugs, but more so, making many friends. In 2010, Karon finally got her cabin up-north on Lookout Lake, where she loved both being alone and entertaining others. Karon is survived by her husband, Todd Alcott, children Richelle Corbin (Mike), Amanda Wittenberg, brother Tim Knopik (Mary), and sisters Karol Charon and Karlene Comer (Eric). Karon's grandchildren include Samantha (Corbin) Grosenheider, Nathan Corbin (Alisha), and Mackenzie Wittenberg. Great- grandchildren include Cameron Corbin, Drake Grosenheider, Mason Grosenheider, Nora Corbin, Braylee Kollasch, and Emmalynn Corbin. Surviving close special friends include Jan Daggett, Cyndy Vargo, and Abbey Vargo. Karon also greatly loved her nieces and nephews. Predeceasing Karon are son Brennan Davis, parents Aaron and Grace Knopik, and brother Thomas Knopik. A celebration of Karon's life is planned for the upcoming months.
