Hamilton, Bernard "Bernie" a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great - grandfather, and retired Navy Chief Petty Officer passed peacefully on May 1, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Bernie dedicated 23 plus years of his life in service to his country as a proud member of both the National Guard (3 yrs.) and the United States Navy (20+ yrs.). Bernie was also a dedicated 2nd generation member of the Masonic organization. He became a member of the York Rite in 1966, he later joined the Minneapolis Masonic Lodge 19 A.F. & A.M. and was a member of the Scottish Rite where he attained the level of 32nd Degree. Following his retirement from the Navy, Bernie was an active member of the American Legion. In addition to his military service, Bernie was a devoted husband to Donna, with whom he shared 67 years of love and companionship. He was a loving father to 5 children, including his son, David (Shelley) Hamilton who preceded him in death at the age of 48. Bernie is survived by 4 children, Gwen (Steven) Starr, Rochelle (Tony) Greaves, Craig (Gwen) Hamilton, and Kim Hamilton, a cherished grandfather to 9 grandchildren (Amie, Mark, Brianna, Cameron, Dianna, Erik, Gina, Spencer, and Giana), and a great-grandfather to 8 great-grandchildren.
