Johnson, David "Dave" Arthur 78, of Brooklyn Park, passed away April 25th 2024 in his home. Born on March 29th, 1946 in Montevideo, MN to Reuben and Harriet Johnson. Dave grew up in Mpls and was drafted by the Army to serve in the Vietnam War where he proudly and honorably served his country. When he returned from the war he worked at Northern States Power Co. for over 40 years as a Senior Draftsman. Dave met his wife, Joanne through a mutual friend and they wed on August 20th, 1977. They were married for 46 beautiful years. During their lifetime together they were fortunate enough to adopt two beautiful daughters, Sarah and Amy. Dave loved old westerns, collecting records, coins, and baseball cards. He enjoyed trips to Arizona, was crazy good at cribbage, and loved Suduku and puzzle books. He always carried mints and a hanky. He loved Lutefisk more than anyone and never met a bowl of popcorn he didn't like. He was incredibly artistic. He loved to spend his time perfecting his calligraphy, Sumi-e Japanese writing, and drawing. From a young age, Dave had a love of photography. He took beautiful photos and was often teased for never being in any pictures. He loved telling stories and had an infectious laugh. Dave was also one of the luckiest people, in love and in life. He loved playing Bingo, pulling pull tabs, and trying his luck with the lottery. Very often he won. He was also very giving of his time and talents. He volunteered with The Gathering, a program at his church for those experiencing memory loss. He took pride in being able to help others and made lifelong friendships along the way. Dave was a wonderful father and grandpa. He loved spending time with his family and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Joanne, his parents Reuben and Harriet.
