Barbara (Andrews) Koropchak of Edina, Minnesota, passed away April 28, 2024. Throughout her 83 amazing years, she touched many lives as a mother, sister, aunt, social worker and friend. Barb was born on July 16, 1940, in Highland Park, Illinois. She graduated from Highland Park High School and the University of Iowa. She earned a master's degree in Social Work from the University of Minnesota. Her dedication to her career in social services spanned over forty years, primarily with Anoka County Regional Treatment Center. Barb found joy in family and friends, travel, reading both fiction and non-fiction and, emanating from her deeply held beliefs, was committed to advancing social justice and fighting racial and gender inequity and other political causes. Barb is preceded in death by parents, Ed and Elizabeth Andrews, brothers Andy and Bill and sister Mary Reynolds. She is survived by children Matt Koropchak (Mindy) and Jen Ryan, and the grandchildren she adored, Walker Ryan and Anabel Koropchak, and dear friend and sister-in-law, Sue Andrews. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whom she held dear to her heart. Barb's legacy will be her unwavering love, compassion and unconditional support.
