Breer, William Clemens "Bill" died on March 10, 2024, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was born on May 22, 1935, in Mankato, the youngest child of Aloysius Breer and Orrel Thiers Breer. Bill attended Mankato High School, the Mankato State Teachers College Laboratory School, and graduated from Loyola Catholic School. He received a B.A. from Mankato State and did post-graduate work at the University of Minnesota in English History, followed by a sojourn in France. His lifelong career was books. He worked at Perine's Bookstore in Dinkytown, and then the University of Minnesota Bookstore, buying books for the store on general subject areas, helping hundreds and hundreds of book lovers, and collecting for himself thousands of books covering a vast range of subjects. His passions were foreign films and tennis, at which he excelled and played until he was in his early 80's. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Jan Bounds Criley, his brother Francis "Bud" Bounds, and his wife Carol Fors Breer. He is survived by his life partner, Barbara Camm; son Christopher Breer; granddaughter Kalisha Scott; great grandchildren Eli, Kalil, and Timmy; niece Ann Cords Edgerton, grandnephew Per Anderson, grandniece Allyssa Edgerton, and great grandnephew Shiloh Person. The family thanks his loving and special caregivers, Tony Deel, Celia George, and Antinet Aigee, who enhanced his last years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Church and Newman Center, 1203 5th Street SE, Minneapolis, MN 55414 at 10:00 a.m. on May 23, 2024. Visitation will be at 8:30 a.m. A luncheon in the Social Hall will follow mass. Parking options include the parish parking lot accessible from 6th Street SE; the parking lot on the corner of 6th Street and 12th Avenue SE, free for funeral-goers; or the paid parking garage at the Venue building on the corner of 5th Street and 13th Avenue SE.
