Mattheis, Beverly (Tjosvold) passed away quietly on the morning of April 12, 2024, in Arden Hills, Minnesota, at the age of 95. Beverly was born in Montevideo, Minnesota on August 15, 1928, to Anna (Mooney) and Conrad Tjosvold. She is survived by her sons, Pete (Karen) and Erik, granddaughters, Hannah (Alex) Rutherfoord, Emma, and Margaret, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Duane Mattheis, and her three brothers, Paul, Roger, and Curtis. She grew up on farms in Granite Falls, Minnesota and graduated from Granite Falls High School in 1946. Beverly obtained her teaching certificate from the Mankato State Teachers College and taught grade school in Jackson, Pipestone, and Sacred Heart, Minnesota. She married Duane Mattheis in 1955, and over their sixty-year marriage they made homes in Granite Falls, Owatonna, Roseville, California, Virginia, Ohio, and North Carolina before returning to Beverly's beloved Minnesota and spending their last years together in Edina and Eden Prairie. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Beverly was a dedicated and active member of the Lutheran Church and performed volunteer services both to her churches and to the communities in which she lived. She was a lifelong Twins, Vikings, and Gophers fan, and rarely missed a televised Twins game in the later years of her life. Beverly was a gracious hostess with a warm smile, and was proud of her homes, husband, children, and grandchildren, and will be long remembered for her doughnuts, cookies, bars, and lefse by those fortunate enough to have tasted them. There will be a memorial service held for Beverly on Friday, May 31, 2024, at 2:00 pm, at the Hillside Chapel of Washburn-McReavy, located at 2610 19th Avenue N.E., Minneapolis, Minnesota. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Wilson's Disease Association, Normandale Lutheran Church (Edina, Minnesota), or a charity of the donor's choice.
