Hall, Peter Nelson born on September 19th, 1941 in St Cloud, Minnesota and resided in Maiden Rock, Wisconsin along Lake Pepin, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 16th, 2024.

Survived by his four children Eric Hall, Corwin Hall, Kysa Lubovich, and Evan Hall, his nine grandchildren, and one great grandchild, his life partner Kathy McNay, his sister's Jean Hall and MaryAnn Holmberg, and his former spouses and good friends Christine Hall and Jennifer Bong.

Peter is preceded in death by his parents Edith Nelson (1898-1998) and Edmund Hall (1898-1964), and his brothers Edmund (Junior) Hall and John Hall.

As an architect, his notable historic preservation works include the Freight House in Stillwater, Pracna on Main Street in Minneapolis, the Gold Medal Flour Washburn Crosby Mills Master Planning in Minneapolis, and the Creamery in Maiden Rock Wisconsin.

In 1968, Peter purchased Pracna, which at the time was a machine shop, and restored it back into a residence and restaurant. This started a revitalization movement on Main Street in Minneapolis centered around historic preservation and the falls.

One of the inaugural commissioners of the Minneapolis Historical Preservation Board, Peter established Peter Nelson Hall Architects on the fifth floor of the Washburn Crosby Mill Utility Building while living on the sixth floor in the 1970's and early 1980's with his family. His architecture firm put together preliminary plans that would set in motion the long-term vision of preserving the landmark.

Peter will be deeply missed. His charisma and positive attitude on life surpass words. A magnificent storyteller, his legends and love will be forever with us. A celebration of life will be held on May 31, 2024 at the Mill City Museum in Minneapolis at 4:30pm. Please contact Evan for information at 612-205-2364.
