Losenno, Luigi Gino 82, passed away on Nov. 1, 2023. Gino, as everyone knew him by, was born in Pisticci, Italy on Dec. 20, 1940, to Vittoria and Domenico Losenno. He was the youngest of eight siblings and spent much of his childhood on the cherished family farm and in the family kitchen where his passion for great food started. At 18 he left home for Toronto, Canada, to start work in his brother's barber shop. After earning his stylist certificate he quickly excelled professionally, winning over 40 awards in hair styling contests around the world. While in his early 20's he split his time between Canada and the Bahamas before eventually making his way to Minnesota. Once settled, he opened multiple successful hair salons throughout the Twin Cities. Later in life his passion for the beauty industry evolved into product research and development with a multitude of patents granted.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Guiseppe, Nicola, Rocco, Donato and sister Carmela. He leaves behind his loving children, sons Gino and Chris and daughters Lisa Groebner and Trina (Chad) Eibon. He will be missed by his grandchildren, Nicholas (Abbey) Groebner, Dylan (Alyssa) Groebner and Lilly Gilbert, Hope and Faith Losenno, their mother Melisa Escalante, and Sophia and Louie Eibon, as well as great-grandchildren Gianna Smith, Lucas, Ellie, Zoe and Hugh Groebner, and daughter Trina's in-laws Patricia and Edward Eibon.

Besides his sisters Annuziata and Maria, and many nieces and nephews in Canada, Italy and the US, he leaves behind a great number of wonderful clients and friends. He was an extremely hard worker with a passion for people. He was a good friend to everyone he met, who always enjoyed his stories and humor.

He was private about his own life but loved hearing about the lives of others. He loved listening (and singing along) to Italian opera, enjoying a good glass of red wine, trying new restaurants, bringing treats to his grandkids, making Sunday phone calls to family, traveling and shopping at local farmers markets.

The family will be holding a private celebration of his life but wanted to share our deepest gratitude to everyone who has reached out and taken the time to share their memories and sorrow with us. We take great comfort knowing he was loved by so many.
