Lester, Bruce Robert age 78, of Arden Hills, MN, died on 10/21/2023. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Edward Lester and mother, Helen Isabel (Hyde) Lester; stepmother, Marge Kjelland; stepfather, Tom Kjelland; sister, Janet Isabel Lewis; and brother, Brian Edward Lester. He is survived by wife, Judith (Judy) Parks Lester; daughter, Tiffany Parks Roberts; daughter, Traci Roberts Capesius and son-in-law, Jacques Leo Capesius; grandchildren, Camille Anne Capesius and Lucy Belle Capesius; sister-in-law, Carrie Lester; niece, Jill Lewis Teter; and nephew, Robert J. Lester. Bruce was born June 10, 1945, in Wichita, KS. He attended primary and secondary school in Wichita. He earned his undergraduate degree in agriculture from Kansas State University, doctorate degree from Purdue University and was a post-doctoral fellow at the Baylor College of Medicine. He was a member of the Sigma Xi National Science Honor Society. Bruce's career included: working as a Senior Investigator for Smith, Kline & French Labs in PA, serving as a researcher in the Department of Lab Medicine and Pathology and Biomedical Engineering Center and faculty member at the University of Minnesota, starting Knowledge Frontiers, a scientific consulting company with a colleague, and serving as VP of R&D and Chief Science Officer for SterileMed. He also served as President and CEO of Sidereal Group, a medical device consulting company. Bruce enjoyed bike riding, learning about the latest and greatest technology, and was a master chef and grill master. He loved food and entertaining friends and family. He was also fond of cats and dogs and treated them as members of the family (often sneaking them treats under the table). He loved bird watching from his deck overlooking a fountain and hosta garden and listening to old 60s and 70s tunes. He was a HUGE fan of The Big Lebowski, as reflected by his Dude-inspired sweaters. Donations in honor of Bruce's memory can be directed to the American Red Cross, Cornell Lab of Ornithology, or Animal Humane Society of Minnesota. Bruce will be greatly missed by many friends and family.
