Smith, Adrienne Joy Darovic On 11 August 2023 at 03:03 with a lovely rain coming down, Adrienne Joy Darovic Smith, loving partner and mother of seven, passed away at the age of 87.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years Jim, her seven children, twelve grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Adrienne and Jim met while both were students at Marquette University. A beautiful coed, her intelligence and similar faith, values, principles and belief in God, with which Jim grew up, drew them together.

An avid reader, articulate and smart, Adrienne earned a bachelor's degree from Marquette University in 1957 graduating early at the age of 20. After two and a half years of dating, Adrienne and Jim married and remained in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Not long after their marriage, Michael, the eldest of seven, was born, followed by Timothy, Patrick, Megan, Maura, Deirdre, and Bridget. All seven within the span of 12 years. They moved to Minnesota where their journey with St. John's University began.

One of her many dreams was to become a Flight Attendant which she did in 1985, retiring in 2002 and loving every moment of it. Her love of travel and being with people made this a perfect match for Adrienne at this point in her life; those who worked with her loved her. At times she would use the fact of being a mother of seven as a way to ensure order and control in the cabin.

Adrienne also had a love of words, crosswords, reading, Bridge, and Scrabble. An extremely articulate person, even during these last days upon finishing a banana after long minutes of chewing, she would respond with saying that she was "sufficiently serensified." This love of words and books was also cultivated by a special bond and love that Adrienne had for the library in Riverside, Illinois, a place that she truly loved and spoke of often; she preferred that any donation go to The Riverside Public Library in Riverside, Illinois, or The St. Cloud Public Library in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

Services for Adrienne will be held at St. John's University on Saturday, 30 September 2023, with a euology starting at 10:45am and service starting at 11:00am.
