Lovaasen, Tim "Lovey, Timmy" 1/23/1948- 4/5/2023 At the age of 75, Tim was taken too soon from us by cancer. He was in his home, surrounded by love and his daughters were holding his hands. Tim was preceded in death by his father, Luverne Lovaasen. Tim is survived by his mother, Barbara Lovaasen. Brothers, Scott (Burnell) Lovaasen, Russ Lovaasen, and sister, Jeanne (Don) Greenwood. Daughters, Dana (Dave) Alcorn & Dawn (Matt) Kaye. Grand kids, Tristan and Taylor Kaye, Justin (Jennifer) Pallies and Shane Pallies. Great-grandchildren Justin Jr, Jacob, Jayden & Jazmine, who was born on Tim's birthday! Tim worked for over 37 years for NW Bell, US west, and quest. He was a proud member of CWA-local 7200. serving in many positions through the years. Tim served the city of Mound as a councilman, and also mayor from the years 1974-1980. Tim also had a governor appointed position with the Metropolitan Airport Commission from 1985 - 1993. Tim loved sports! In high school, he played varsity football and wrestled for the Minnetonka skippers. In college, he played football for SCSU. In his adult years, He played touch & flag football, slow and modified pitch softball, and HOCKEY. Hockey was by far his favorite sport ever! He played in arenas all over the Twin Cities. His last home for hockey was the Bloomington ice garden (BIG). The group of guys that he played with at the BIG have won many national tournaments in their age bracket. Tim also loved NASCAR, traveling to many tracks around the nation. Tim will always be remembered as a good guy by his family, friends, teammates, neighbors, and his very special dog, Finn. A celebration of Tim's life will be held on May 7, 2023, at the: Bloomington Event Center 1114 American Blvd. W., Bloomington, MN 55420. 1 PM social. 2 PM service. After the service, beer and food will be served and stories will be shared. Tim wanted a party not a funeral. Music will be played in his honor! Don't forget to wear a hockey or softball jersey if you have one. Lovey would like that!
