Brindley, Robert (Bob) 72, passed away on February 25, 2023, holding hands with his high school sweetheart and true love, Mary, his wife of 52 years. Bob was born May 11, 1950, to Margaret and Robert Brindley in Iowa City, Iowa. After graduating from Mason City High School in 1968, Bob attended the University of Northern Iowa, later graduating from the University of Iowa, where he became a Nurse Practitioner and earned his Physician Assistant certification, beginning a career in healthcare. In 1965 when Bob was 16 years old, he met Mary. In a story often retold, Bob's father said to his mother upon meeting Mary, "she is perfect, but they are so young, it will never last." Bob and Mary had two children, Tadd in 1974 and Robbie in 1977. They celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary in November 2022. In 1986 Bob and Mary relocated to Minnesota, bringing Mary's family business Grethen House. Bob began a new career in medical supplies, starting as a leading salesman for SciTon. He was among the first to introduce innovative skin care laser devices to the region's dermatologists and plastic surgeons. Bob was a rare gem, also known as Dracks, Bapa, and Pops. He loved everyone he met wholeheartedly and was everyone's biggest fan. Possessing kindness, humor, and generosity, he shared his love for everything with his family and friends. He had endless stories of his many adventures, whether driving his Ford Mustang in Iowa, his time spent on the high school swim team, or the fun he had with his best friends David Worenson and David Wohl. Bob and Mary's adventures included wine-tasting trips to Northern California vineyards and many Fashion Week trips to Paris. While in Paris, they visited their favorite restaurants and hidden antique shops. They also put padlocks on the Pont des Arts bridge for loved ones. One of Bob's passions was planning dinners paired with fabulous wines for him and Mary to enjoy while sitting on their porch overlooking the Carver Bluffs. Bob loved to stargaze and talk about the constellations, and it became a family activity with a contest to see who saw the first shooting star. In 2010, Bob became a grandfather. Triplets Greyson, Everett, and Mathias were born to Maggie and Tadd. A little more than two years later, in 2013, twins Mack and Molly were born to Jessica and Robbie. A few months later, the sixth grandchild, Maxine, was born to Maggie and Tadd. He shared many occasions being the baby wrangler, the baby whisperer, the master swaddler, the guitar instructor, the nerf battle target, the Ice cream treat supplier, and the belly laugh instigator. Bob impacted his grandchildren's lives with his extraordinary kindness, generosity, love, strength, humor, and passion. Bob is survived by his wife Mary, sons Tadd Brindley (Maggie) and Robbie (Jessica), and six grandchildren, Mathias (12), Everett (12), Greyson (12), Mack (10), Molly (10), and Maxine (9). He also leaves his sister Barb Yankey (John), and brother John Brindley (Pam). His two sweet grand pups, Rocket and Luna will certainly miss Bob too. A private service will be held. In true Bob Brindley fashion, there will be a summer celebration, an announcement to follow in the coming months. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to NC Little Hospice. 7019 Lynmar Lane, Edina, MN 55435.
