Edwards, Cheryl Marie (Morgan) was born on April 26, 1949, and died February 28, 2023, surrounded by her family and her best friend, Barb. Born to Bill and Joanne Morgan, she was second of ten children, so as you can probably guess, grew up in an Irish Catholic family. She was a sister, a mom, a wife, a grandma, a friend, and a certified goddess. (Some people might think they are certified goddesses, but she really was, she took a class and had a laminated certificate to prove it.) She had so many loves, including, but not limited to: her husband Mark, her kids, her grandkids, her extended family, liver and onions (gross), painting, reading, Barnes & Noble (so much so that we were going to spread her ashes there, but we didn't think the employees would like that), HomeGoods, ladies day, her soul sister Barb, collecting rocks, the TCM movie channel, To Sir, with Love (she had the hots for Sidney Poitier big time), popcorn, red licorice, her women's circles, her book circles, her drum circles (she really just liked circles), creating things, her Regina classmates, family reunions, anything Irish, wearing socks with sandals (much to her children's chagrin), learning, listening, coffee, sitting outside in the sun, walking in nature, celebrity gossip even though she never got any of their names right, laughing, discussing religion and god, her faith, and her spirituality. A lot of people use the phrase "beautiful inside and out," but that never rang truer than with Cheryl. With her fiery red hair (her kids would lovingly call her Danny Bonaduce for years) and sparkling blue eyes, she was a beauty like no other. And she loved like no other. She made everyone around her feel safe and loved. She would talk to anyone, cashiers, people at restaurants who were just trying to enjoy a meal with their families, waitresses, homeless people - she had a smile that would welcome anyone. And she really did love everyone, all races, all genders, all religions, all walks of life, she didn't judge a soul. She is preceded in death by her mom, Joanne; dad, William; brother, Chris; and other beloved relatives. She is survived by her husband Mark, her kids Leah (Troy), Keith (Sica), Mindy (Milton, her dog), her stepchildren Lisa (Jason), Beth (Brian), Corey (Rusty), and the absolute loves of her life, her grandchildren, Stella, Cole, Mila, Norah, Remy, Skylar, Jonah, and Emily. Her wake will be held Wednesday, March 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Kozlak-Radulovich Funeral Chapel (1385 107th Ave. NE, Blaine, MN), and her funeral will be held Thursday, March 9, at 1 p.m. at the Christ the King Lutheran Church (1900 7th St. NW, New Brighton, MN) with a lunch to follow. She wouldn't want us to mourn her death, but to celebrate her life, so please feel free to wear bright colors (her favorite color was hot pink) or tell a funny story. If you would like to send flowers, roses were her favorite; otherwise, please donate to the charity that is closest to her heart, the Alexandra House: alexandrahouse.org/.
