Omlid, Roger Theodore "Bupa" Age 81, of Edina, MN, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2022, after a courageous battle with pneumonia. He was born May 23, 1941 to Ted and Esther (Eliason) Omlid of Minneapolis, MN. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Audrey Omlid (Gilman), daughter Molly (Channing) Schmidt and son Ted (Sara); his beloved grandchildren Zoë, Channing, Will, Brooks and Alexandra; sister (Nancy) and many other family and close friends.

Roger was a long-time resident of Minnetonka and attended Macalester College where he played hockey and went on to serve in the Air Force. He worked in real estate and mortgage banking for his whole career. His real passion was coaching youth sports. Roger poured his heart into coaching youth softball, baseball, basketball and football. Roger always believed in a strong work ethic, hustle, positive thinking and teamwork and tried to instill that in all his teams and players. He found another later calling in youth hockey and lacrosse with his grandsons and rarely missed a practice or game and tracked every goal, assist and save. "Bupa", as his grandkids called him, will always be remembered for his warm smile, focus on family, love of exploring the Twin Cities, knowledge of all the best neighborhood food and ice cream shops and how to occasionally play "hooky" from school or church for some extra fun. He was an amazing cook who made special Sunday breakfasts, special spaghetti sauce, gravy and stuffing. He truly was one of a kind who loved his family beyond measure.

An Open House in celebration of Roger's life will be held in the summer. The family would like to give special thanks to all the doctors, nurses and support staff of the Methodist Hospital ICU team who took such great care of Roger on multiple occasions. A special thank you to Dr. Nicolette Myers. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Edina Give and Go (edinagiveandgo.org) to help support families in need pursue youth sports or to Mount Olivet Lutheran Church to benefit the Cathedral of the Pines camp.
