Hoskins, Diane Beth died peacefully on March 3rd, 2022 at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park with her son, Sam Erickson and life-partner, Barb Day at her side. Diane was born on July 28th, 1954 in Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania, the middle child of John and Billie (Cale) Hoskins. The family moved to Wheeling, West Virginia two years later where Dianne attended Wheeling Country Day School and Tridelphia HIgh School. She was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Lake Forest College. After graduation she moved to Minneapolis where she began masters studies for library science at the University of Minnesota. She also worked as a bibliotherapist at Children's Hospital from 1977 until 1982. After taking a few years to raise her children, Diane began working for the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board in 1992. She spent 27 years as a recreation specialist at Pearl Park which she retired from in December of 2019. Diane had an amazing sense of humor, loved to laugh and talk, and found joy and beauty in everyday life. She loved to travel and had a special place in her heart for the Yucatan in Mexico, Chicago, Las Vegas, New Orleans, and everywhere else she visited. Her family, friends, and work colleagues cherish the memories of a woman too suddenly taken from them. Diane is preceded in death by her son Kyle Erickson, her father John Hoskins, and mother Billie Hoskins. She is survived by her partner, Barb, son Sam, sister Cathleen Hoskins, and brother John Hoskins. There will be a celebration of life for Diane this Sunday, July 31st at 2:00pm at the Lyndale Park Peace Garden (4124 Roseway Road Minneapolis, MN 55409).
