Braun, Marie Antoinette (Powers) age 87, passed away peacefully with her sisters by her side on June 27. She is survived by her son Matt Braun (Mindy) and daughter Becca Braun (Peter Goepfrich); grandchildren Will Braun, Jack, George and Hank Goepfrich and Sena Braun; sisters Betty Morson (Mike) and Kathy Powers; and sister-in-law Martha Bray. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband John; parents Leonard and Antoinette Powers; sisters Nancy and Pat Powers; and brothers Jim and Jerry Powers. Marie held degrees from the University of Chicago and the University of Minnesota. Along with her husband John she worked as a therapist and owned and operated The Counseling Clinic, Inc. Marie lived an unparalleled life working tirelessly for peace and social justice. She was an invaluable member of WAMM and contributed immeasurably to a multitude of social justice and anti-war coalitions. Her unwavering compassion and drive left an indelible impact on all those she encountered. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Her indomitable spirit lives on through the people she loved. Funeral service at St. Joan of Arc Church, 4537 Third Avenue South, Mpls on Thursday July 7. Gathering at 9:30-11:00am, Mass at 11:00am, lunch to follow. Memorials to WAMM and SJA Outreach Fund.
