DeMuth, Karen Ann was a caring wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. She left this world after a courageous battle with cancer on April 4, 2022 at the age of 76. She was born to Barney and Edna September 15, 1945. She met the love of her life, Joe, while earning a Bachelor's Degree in Child Psychology at the University of Minnesota. Teaching was a calling for Karen. She taught at the Ascension, St Charles Borromeo School and Golden Years Montessori. She loved Girl Scouts growing up to co-lead a troop from Brownies to Senior Scouts. Karen enjoyed experiencing new places and planing her next adventure. She first travelled across Europe with her best friend Mick after high school. Other adventures over the years included taking a bus to Mexico City, touring Turkey, train and road trips across the US and sailing on Superior. She loved car runs with Joe as a member of the MN Triumphs Club. The North Shore was her favorite place in MN. From helping build her friend's cabin in Castle Danger to camping vacations with family she was a frequent visitor. Karen loved family dinners that included afternoons of cooking together. Family favorites include her White Castle stuffing, chicken and dumplings and deviled eggs. She was an avid reader and always had books on hold at the library. She is survived by husband Joe, brother Ronald and daughters Aimee and Meghan (Glenn). She is preceded in death by her parents and sister Darlene (Lyle) and sister-in-law Betty. A celebration of life will be held on a future date. Donations in her honor can be made to World Central Kitchen.
