Anderson, Richard E. "Dick" Age 68, Passed away peacefully, from Covid-19, on February 8, 2022, with his family by his side. A life-long resident of Hopkins, Dick graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1972. He attended Hennepin County Vocational Technical Center and earned his degree in the Machinist trade. He was an employee of DeGhetto Engineering beginning 1971. After Bob DeGhetto's passing in 1998, he became sole owner. In 2005, he brought in a business partner and continued until 2018 when they prepared to retire. Dick was driven by his work ethic in the machine shop. He leaves behind a legacy of honesty and striving for excellency. He finished 50 years upon retirement in September, 2021. His passion was the love of the outdoors; hunting, fishing, sharing with and teaching others. Dick touched many lives with his great sense of humor and always had a twinkle in his eye. Giving to others was second nature to him, always lending a hand to everyone he met. Preceded in death by parents, Robert and Barbara, and his brother Bob. He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Anita (Augustin), daughter Trina (James) Needham, grandsons Riley and Connor; brother Ralph (Brenda), sisters Nancy (Ken) French, Dawn (Paul) Korpi, Cindy (Rick) Westmark, nieces and nephews; brother-in-law Ricky (Theresa Horne) Augustin and sister-in-law Pamela Gustin and family. He will be dearly missed by us all; including other family members, friends and business associates. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, March 11, at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will be two hours prior at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 500 Blake Road S., Hopkins 55343. Private interment.
