Wardin, Jean Marie Beloved wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away on January 11, 2022 at the age of 87, a resident of North Oaks for 47 years. Jean was born in Dubuque, IA on July 16, 1934 to parents Edmund and Genevieve Peschang. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Doris, and two grandchildren Amanda and Victor. She is survived by her loving husband Robert of 68 years; brother John (Jennifer); children Diana, J Robert (Kazumi), Kent (Lori), and Karl (Natalie); grandchildren Christine (Megan), Matthew (Justine), Lydia (Ellen), Caroline (Ryan), Sarah (Vinicius), Kyle (Katie), Evan, Jacqueline, Madalyn, Kollin, and Anna; great-grandchildren Jackson, Colette, Finley, Celia, and August. Jean grew up in various cities in the south, where her father-built airbases. Jean attended college at Iowa State Teachers College (now UNI), where she met her husband Bob (Iowa State) in her sophomore year. It was love at first sight, and they were married five months later on Jan 17, 1954. Bob has loved her more every day. Jean Wardin will be forever remembered for her warm and empathetic nature. Her kindness and welcoming outgoing personality allowed her to make friends everywhere. For all those who knew Jean, we will cherish her storytelling. She loved to travel and share her experiences from visiting six different continents. Jean enjoyed the opera, and she was an avid walker and golfer. She was also a philanthropist, volunteering her time at her local children's hospital. Jean will be greatly missed, and the family appreciates the love and support they have received during this time. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 23, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Holcomb-Henry-Boom-Purcell Funeral Home; 515 W. Hwy 96, Shoreview, MN. A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 24, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. at House of Hope Presbyterian Church; 797 Summit Ave., St. Paul, MN. Reception to follow the church service.
