McCormick, Mary Ellen (Nee Brom) age 66, of Minneapolis, Minnesota passed away on Sunday, November 14th, 2021. She was the eighth child of eleven born to Joseph and Kathryn Brom and attended Incarnation Elementary School at a time when the parish was well-populated with families having many children. The kids born and raised in the parish often refer to being a part of the Catholic Connection because if someone didn't know you, they typically knew one of your siblings. Mary Ellen graduated from Regina High School in 1973 and received her degree from Concordia University, St. Paul in 2001. She started her professional career as a Legal Assistant with Honeywell in 1978 and retired as a Principal Paralegal with Medtronic in 2017. She traveled extensively for her job, which gave her the opportunity to see the world. After her retirement, Mary Ellen sold her home on the second hole of the Edinburgh Golf Course and moved to Arizona to be near her son's family, golf in the Minnesota off-season (aka winter), and to get away from the snow and the cold. Mary Ellen loved to travel with her family and instilled with them a sense of adventure and to always enjoy the moment. Ready for fun and excitement, she loved attending sporting events, concerts, and anything that involved a social gathering. Ever the competitive person, she was ready to challenge anyone to a game of Trivial Pursuit or Pictionary and would not let you hear the end of it if she won! Never afraid to introduce herself, she was always quick to make new friends and rarely forgot a name or face. She was an avid golfer for many years and a diehard Vikings fan most of her life. She had a keen sense of humor and quick wit that her family and friends appreciated while enjoying many laughs with her over the years. She had a beautiful smile that will be especially missed. Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis (Curt) McCormick; parents, Joseph and Kathryn; and brothers, Harry and Chuck. Mary Ellen is survived by her two children, Melinda Jean and David John (Kimberly) Dotray;  stepson Joshua (Andrea) Dannewitz; her five grandchildren, Savanna, Davian, Wyatt, Lila, and Connor; her eight siblings Joseph (Helen), James (Denise), Kathy (Jerry). Peggy (Larry), Evelyn, David, Carol (Jim), and Marcia (Eric); many nieces, nephews, and their children. There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, April 23rd, 2022, at the Next Chapter Winery in New Prague 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.
