Bolstorff, Frank Douglas known to most as Doug, of Eagan, Minnesota died peacefully at home at the age of 90 on Friday, December 3rd, 2021. Doug was born in Austin, MN on October 29, 1931, the first child of Frank and Esther Bolstorff. He was raised in Grand Rapids with his younger brother David who shared his love of sports. Doug attended the University of Minnesota earning a BS in Forestry and Natural Science and a MA in Physical Education. He played varsity basketball for the University of Minnesota, for the Army Team and briefly for the Detroit Pistons. Doug had a long career as a coach and educator at Macalester College. He primarily coached basketball, cross country, and track. He was a Physical Education Associate Professor where he taught a variety of classes. In his spare time he loved to fish on Leech Lake, work on his apple orchard, and play bridge. Doug is survived by his wife of 64 years, Helen, his three daughters Lynn, Kathy, and Barb, his three sons-in-law Raymond, Mark, and George, and his five grandchildren, Jake, Jenna, Jonah, Allison, and Gus. He is also survived by his brother Reverend David Bolstorff and wife Donna, his sister-in-law Trudy Dunphy, and cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was grateful for the continued friendship and support of many former players, friends, and colleagues. Services will be held at Easter Lutheran Church, 4200 Pilot Knob Road, Eagan, MN 55122 on Monday, December 13th at 11:00 am with a one-hour visitation prior to the service. Face masks are required. Memorials preferred to the Macalester College Athletic Department, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, or a charity of your choosing.
