Trish Jaeb

Our dear Trish passed away on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at the age of 60. Trish was our Wonder Woman in a life filled with family and friends; outdoor activities; volunteering; work; and, oh yes, twenty years living with cancer. She inspired us to celebrate being alive, whatever came our way.

Trish was thankful for the special bond she had with her sisters Rose and Mel. Above and beyond, Rose was there for Trish throughout. Mary, her mother, provided much support and love including special deliveries of Trish's favorite foods. Trish was especially close to her nieces Madeline, Anna, and Alex, who knew their auntie mostly living with cancer. They saw her in her fullness because strength and love were at Trish's core. She taught them to understand and cope with the unexpected in life both good and bad. Trish wants to thank her brother Paul for making her laugh. He could bring her to joyful tears with a single word or the roll of an eye. And thanks to her youngest brother Tom for checking in often with offers to help with anything.

Trish loved to entertain, mixing family and friends. She tolerated her sister Mel's assistance, despite Mel's legendary cooking messes. She credits her mother Mary with teaching her how to put together a dinner party on a moment's notice "It's all in the presentation," her mother always said. Trish's creative bent took that advice and she created elegant events that rivaled her mother's soirees.

She cherished outdoor adventures, especially treks in her pop-up camper, "Millie." Her mother Mary and her father Bud made camping a family tradition, teaching their kids how to make the most of a trip whatever the weather. She loved evenings by the campfire and fiercely competitive Yahtzee games. Millie seemed like the Hilton after a lifetime of tents!

Trish volunteered extensively, including Volunteer Braille Services; Race for the Cure; Twin Cities Hospice; Vision Loss Resources; and, most importantly, Courage Center Sports and Rec. As her cancer advanced, many of the women she met through these organizations continued to support her.

She gives thanks to her boss, Kim Culp, for his support. She wants him to know he was responsible for making her last years far less stressful. He became a cherished friend. Her sisters Rose and Mel were caretakers extraordinaire for many years. Patty Clark was her dear friend and "on-call" nurse. Trish is forever grateful to the Frauenshuh Cancer staff and her oncologist, Dr. Wilkowske, who was with her from the beginning of her cancer journey. A kinder man you will not find. Also, a special thanks to Park-Nicollet hospice staff for the loving care they gave to Trish and the family.

Trish will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her father Bud. Trish is survived by her mother Mary and her four siblings: Melanie Jaeb (Linda), Paul Jaeb (Jeffrey), Rose (Mark) MacLean, and Tom Jaeb (Kjersten), as well as her nieces and nephew, Madeline, Alex and Anna MacLean; Katie, Lizzie and Ben Jaeb.

We will mourn Trish, but we also know she is in Heaven supervising her celebration of life. All who are vaccinated are welcome to join us in celebrating Trish's life on December 10th.
