Richards, Kenneth Grinnell "Ken" November, 1961 to August, 2021 passed away on Friday, August 27, 2021, in Hospice in Alamo, California. Ken is survived by his spouse, Sandra (Sandy) Yuki Wada, who was at his side, and by his parents Donald C and Harriett B Richards; siblings Michael H Richards (Christine); Kevan J Wisniewski (John); Catherine M D Richards (David); Constance L Anthony (John) and many nephews and nieces. Ken was born in November, 1961, in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. Ken attended Haverford School, Haverford, Pennsylvania, junior and senior high school at Edina East High School in Edina, Minnesota. In high school, Ken was a great wide receiver for the Edina High School football team, loved to play ice hockey, and was the center of his social circle. Ken attended Augustana College, Sioux Falls, South Dakota and the University of Minnesota. He then travelled to Europe by himself. In 1984, Ken moved to California. He had a variety of jobs, studied the guitar, played in a band, and learned the computer on the job. He graduated from Antioch College with a degree in music. Ken managed computer systems for Triton International and travelled extensively around the world. He then managed a computer system contract for a chain of hospitals in California, under Perot Systems, Dell, then NTT, Inc. Ken and Sandy Wada were married in 2004, and lived in San Leandro, California. Ken was loved by all who knew him. When he became ill, his whole family rallied in support. Many of his long-time friends and co-workers came to visit, some from across the country. We will all miss Ken and wish him well on his new journey. A memorial service in remembrance of Ken will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at Arden Park, Edina MN, from 10 am until 12 pm.
