Friesleben, Rex A. 75, of Fridley, passed away August 12, 2021. Born in Belmond, IA on June 20, 1946, Rex grew up on a family farm in Alexander, IA before moving to Clear Lake, IA, where he graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1964. Rex attended Iowa State University, graduating in 1968, before serving two years in the U.S. Army, including one year in the infantry in Vietnam. He spent several years working in the poultry business in Des Moines, IA before moving to the material handling equipment industry and relocating to Minneapolis in 1985. Rex worked for Lift Stak and Stor in St. Paul for nearly 30 years before retiring in 2011. Rex loved music, singing regularly with his church choir and the Archdiocesan choir of Minneapolis/St. Paul, as well as serving as a cantor at Mass. He enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, watching sports, baking, and traveling with his beloved wife, Mary Jo. Rex is survived by his wife Mary Jo; sons Chad (Kelly) Friesleben of West Des Moines, IA and Matthew (Cari) Friesleben of Denver, CO; stepsons Mark (Carin) Engler of Fargo, ND and Kevin (Amy) Engler of Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren Caitlyn and Nicholas Friesleben, West Des Moines, IA and Adaline and Carlisle Friesleben, Denver, CO; and step-grandchildren Madison and Mason Engler, Fargo, ND. Memorial services will be planned for a later date. Memorial donations may be made to St. Williams Catholic Church in Fridley.
