Dr. Jan Lizbeth Duquette (Winger) 69, passed away peacefully at the beginning of June 2021 after a hard fought battle with Alzheimer's disease. Jan was born to Robert and Marilyn Winger on February 7th, 1952 in Robbinsdale, Minnesota. She graduated from Carleton College in 1974 and met her loving husband of 46 years, Peter Duquette, just prior to medical school at the University of Minnesota. After completing her medical training, Jan joined Southdale OB/Gyn Consultants in 1983. For 25 years she loved taking care of her patients and building lasting relationships with them, her staff, and her colleagues. Jan joins her parents, Robert and Marilyn Winger, in heaven. She is survived by her husband Peter Duquette and their two children, Steve Duquette (Christine), Annie Biele (Dan), and her three younger siblings, Paula Wanker (David), Julie Gardner (Yehuda), and John Winger (Anna). She leaves behind her beloved grandchildren; Clarabel, Hank, Signe and Solveig. Jan was a true treasure; she was always warm, caring, generous, had a wonderfully quirky sense of humor, and had the gift of making everyone she met feel special. She truly enjoyed any time spent with her family and friends; whether it was on trips, spending time at their cabin in Northern Minnesota, making jewelry, watching movies, or playing with her grandchildren; she cherished it all. Her funeral service will be conducted at the Cremation Society of Minnesota located at 7110 France Avenue South in Edina, Minnesota on Friday, June 18th, with visitation at 4:00pm, followed by the funeral service at 5:00pm. Memorials should be directed to the Alzheimer's Association or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. The family would like to express the most heartfelt thanks to friends and family who have been so supportive throughout this difficult journey. They would also like to extend their gratitude to the staff and nurses of English Rose Suites & Home Care and Grace Hospice.
