Christiansen, Leo Paul age 91, of Pelican Rapids, MN, died in Harlingen, Texas on February 17, 2021. Born in Rothsay, MN, he is a graduate of North Dakota State University in Engineering, and was 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force. He married Patricia Jean Utke of Fargo, ND. They raised 3 children, Paul, Vicki, and Carrie in Mendota Heights, MN. Leo was a successful entrepreneur with three engineering patents for controls that made commercial and industrial boilers more efficient. He started his own business, Century Controls Inc. that helped many companies across the United States save energy, money and prevent pollution. Leo will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a very caring man, with a great sense of humor. Leo was preceded in death by his wife Patricia, his father, Nels, his mother, Helen, his brothers Frances, Vernon, and sister Margaret. He is survived by his sister Fern of Fresno, CA, son Paul (Linda) of Eagan, MN, daughter Vicki of Eagan, MN, daughter Carrie of St. Paul, grandson Daniel (Allison) of Rosemount, grandson Derek (Vanessa) of Madison, WI, grandson Evan of Eagan, MN, and great grandchildren Colette and Calvin. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and many friends. A memorial service will be held in the spring at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
