Keil, John 89, of St. Cloud, died peacefully December 31, 2020, with family by his side. He was a member of St. Michael's Church. A celebration of John's life will be held privately at a later date. John Frank Keil was born June 28, 1931, in Cold Spring, Minnesota to Frank Keil and Anna (Harter) Keil. He grew up in Cold Spring, Delano, and St. Cloud. He was a proud veteran, serving in the United States Navy during the Korean War as a sonar tech on the USS Radford and USS O'Bannon, also participating in the Eniwetok atomic testing program. In 1956, he was united in marriage to Muriel Politeske. They had a wonderful marriage and made their home in Brooklyn Park, Winter Haven, FL and for the last 14 years resided in St. Cloud, MN. He spent his entire career with International Multifoods Corp. John enjoyed any time with family and friends, time at the cabin, fishing, golfing, playing cards, woodworking, and was an avid Minnesota sports teams fan. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Muriel Keil; sons, Daniel (Sheri) Keil, Brooklyn Park, and Michael Keil, Sartell; daughters, Sharon Keil (Tim Lohse), South Haven, and Patricia (James) Remus, Rice; granddaughters, Shawn Lohse, Anna Lohse, Kelsea Paulson and Lindsay Keil; great-granddaughter, Fae Paulson.
