Thury, Kenneth Leo passed away peacefully on December 13th, 2020 at Burnsville Ridges Hospital in Burnsville Minnesota. He was born on October 31st, 1931 in Parkston, South Dakota. Ken lived a full 89 years, he started driving at 14 giving him a solid 75 years behind the wheel. He is survived by sons Christian (Nancy), Duff (Nancy Blankfard), Spencer (Mary), and many other relatives, friends, and neighbors. Grandchildren Daniel, Elias, Lydia, Nola, Abigail, Joanna, and Roman. Siblings Frances, Maxine, Geraldine, Linus, Theresa, Larry, Richard, and Janet. Passed on Norbert, Marcella and Florence. Preceded in death by parents and an adult daughter Sarah. Ken was a retired high school teacher and athletics coach, a majority of his career at Lakeville High school in Minnesota. He accomplished success with his Lakeville girls basketball state tournament team's appearance in 1980-81 season, he brought home trophies to his Brookings High School, SD boys basketball team (1968 state champs, 1969 state runner ups in boys basketball) and a state tournament appearance at Priest River, ID high school in 1966. He began teaching and coaching at Northville high school in South Dakota. Ken was also an insurance salesman, avid fisherman, dance floor general, Cleveland Browns/Indians fanatic, and was known to frequent a casino now and then. No memorial donations please, Ken requested remembrance by trying to make everyone smile and be happy. Raise your next rum and coke as a toast to Ken Thury.
