LaFrenz, Mary Jodeen was born on October 5, 1938 in Willmar, MN. She was the daughter of Robert and Lewista Paris. She passed away on November 2, 2020 following a battle with cancer. Jodeen moved to Mandan, North Dakota when she was 13. She had many fond memories of her childhood including being the only girl that could climb the hanging rope to the top of the gym and being a member of the marching band. She was a proud graduate of Mandan High School. Jodeen graduated from NDSU in 1960 with a BS in Education and was in the Gamma Phi Beta sorority. She got her first job teaching Home Economics at Faribault Junior HS. This is where she met her husband Dale, a math teacher. They married in 1963 in Mandan. Jodeen was a dedicated and loving mother who stayed at home to raise four kids. Jodeen had many passions including travel, family cabin time, building strong connections with friends, family and especially grandkids. She will be remembered lovingly for her strength, kindness and relentlessly positive spirit. She is survived by her loving husband, Dale, of 57 years; son Jason (Naomi) LaFrenz, daughter Jennifer LaFrenz, daughter Sarah (Jason) Bass and son Todd (Jackie) LaFrenz and seven grandchildren Ian, Will, Emma, Madeline, Gavin, Matea and Sam; brothers Frosty Paris, Richard (Kathy) Paris and Jack (Kristi) Paris; Dean and Carol LaFrenz; nephews and nieces; and many dear friends. Jodeen loved her connection with the Pax Christi Quilters and their annual project of making quilts for graduating seniors at Christo Rey Jesuit HS in Mpls. Memorials can be made to Pax Christi Quilting Ministry or directly to Christo Rey HS. Memorial service is pending.
