Carpenter, Jeffrey Dean It was a dark and stormy night when the family arrived at the Hotel Delgado. . ." and thus began the tales of Jeff's campfire stories much to the delight of his children. The story ended on September 26, 2020 when Jeff died at the age of 64 from early onset Alzheimer's disease. A resident of Edina, Jeff graduated from Minnetonka H.S., the University of MN, and Hamline University School of Law. He practiced law as a clerk in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, and was a partner at Rider, Bennett, Egan & Arundel and Henson & Efron. He served as president of the Edina Swim Club and was a member of the Edina Planning Commission. In his retirement, Jeff enjoyed playing golf and tennis, biking with friends, and running, completing Grandma's Half Marathon in 2018. He also enjoyed travelling to visit friends and family, attending rock concerts and volunteering for Meals on Wheels. Jeff was preceded in death by his father Dean and sister Robin and his beloved collies Gypsy, Shadow and Sophie. He is survived by Gina, his wife of 40 years, daughter Lisa, son Brian, mother Jan, brothers Scott (Anne) and Tim (Kathy), 10 nieces and nephews, extended family, and his dog Charlie Boy. Special thanks to Jenny Morgan and her amazing staff at Breck Home for their care of Jeff the final months of his life. Memorials preferred to Minnesota Wisconsin Collie Rescue, Metro Meals on Wheels, or the Alzheimer's Association. A celebration of Jeff's life will be held at a future date. We will miss his brilliant blue eyes, his quiet and meticulous nature, his love of lebkuchen, pumpkin pie, Elton John, the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Seinfeld, and his wit and humor. Aloha.
