Antila, Molly McLaughlin age 50, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend to many, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2020, in her Minneapolis home surrounded by family and friends, who loved her dearly. Molly fought courageously, for the past year, against Bile Duct Cancer. Molly was pure sunshine to those who knew her well and her beautiful red hair reflected her personality. She loved growing up on Fremont Ave S. in the "neighborhood Pippi Longstocking house", family reunions in Boston, going to Prince concerts, walking around lakes and along ocean beaches and spending time with her family and friends. Molly was born in Summit, NJ and grew up in Minneapolis, near Lake Harriet. Molly had the distinct ability to make people feel better about themselves just by being in her presence. She worked tirelessly to assist hundreds of children obtain a better life as a Special Education Teacher and later as an Occupational Therapist. Molly is survived by her husband Nick, and her 11 year old daughter, Fiona. She is also survived by: her mother and father, Mary and John McLaughlin; her sisters, Julie (Frank) Larkin, Megan McLaughlin and Micaela (Peter) Gannon; her brothers; John (Jenni) McLaughlin and Mike (Kristen) McLaughlin; and, her in-laws, Delores and Henry Antila and Ted (Jennifer) Antila. She was also the beloved Aunt to many nieces and nephews. We will all miss her immensely and will do everything in our power to keep her spirit alive and close to all of us. Due to COVID, a private funeral service will be held at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Minneapolis. A burial prayer service, for all friends, who wish to attend, will be held at Lakewood Cemetery, in Minneapolis, on Friday, September 18, 2020, at 2 PM. Future celebrations of Molly's life will be planned and communicated. In lieu of flowers, Molly would want you to do an unsolicited act of kindness to impact one or many.
