Biorn, Emilia K. (Amy) 96, died on August 15, 2020 at her home surrounded by family. She was born on the Fourth of July, 1924 in Salem, MA to Casimer and Katharine Czuchra. She grew up in Salem, graduating from Salem High School in 1942. She met Floyd Biorn on her 18th birthday and corresponded with him during WWII, while he was deployed in the Mediterranean with the Navy. They were married in February 1945 and moved to Minneapolis after Floyd's service was completed in 1947. Amy and Floyd lived on the Northside since returning to Minneapolis. Amy was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church and the VFW Auxiliary. She worked as an Mpls Public School Secretary until she retired in 1985. Amy was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, her husband of 48 years, Floyd, and her son-in- law Dan Rogers. She is survived by her 3 daughters: Geraldine Rogers, Janice Biorn (Des Spalding) and Mary (Mark) Annoni. Also nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is mourned by many friends and people whom she welcomed into the family. She will be greatly missed, as she lived her life in a state of active grace, humility and uncompromising virtue. Public visitation Thursday, 8/20, 4-7 pm at Washburn-McReavy Glen Haven Chapel, 5125 West Broadway, Crystal.
