Komanecky, George 77, passed away May 28th, 2020 peacefully in his sleep. He is survived by his daughter, Julia, her husband, Chris and children, as well as his brother John (Alice) and their adult children, Dave, Paul and Annie. He is also survived by his ex-wife, Elizabeth Payne (Rich Magnuson). He was born April 4th, 1943 in upstate New York to Anna Simkulet and John Komanecky. His family is known for the Wy-Knot burger restaurant in New Hartford NY. He served in the US Army during Vietnam, 1966-69, finished college, became an electrical / mechanical engineer, and later opened his own wood-working and professional grade sound system business in Minnesota. He lived there from 1969 until he moved back to New Hartford in 2005. He loved music, friendships, and cats. He was renowned for his warmth and personality. He was very close to his daughter and adored watching his Grandsons grow. There will be no calling hours. A private family graveside service will be held in the future. A Memorial party to celebrate his life will be held in about a year, with the date to be set by his daughter, Julia.
