Norell, Richard "Rick" Wayne 64 of Golden Valley, MN and Cumberland, WI joined his savior in heaven on June 3rd, 2020 after a short battle with ALS. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 40 years, Jane Elizabeth (Rorem) Norell and his children Andrew (Amanda), Kyle (Serena) and Emily; grandchildren Hazel and Eliza; his mother Norma (Kraft) Norell; siblings Steve (Barb), Kent (Janet) & Paul (Karen) and many other caring relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his caring father Raymond Norell. Rick was born in Minneapolis, MN and spent his youth in the Minnetonka and Hopkins area where he made many friends through baseball and academics. Rick's highly relational personality was evident and loved by all those who encountered him at Lindbergh High (class of 1974), Oral Roberts University (class of 1978) and later in his career in insurance at Alexander & Alexander, Aon, and Hays Companies. In 1979 he married the love of his life Jane and they made a home for themselves in Eden Prairie where they lived for over 30 years and raised three children. In 2014 they began building the foundations to retire to Cumberland, WI where they spent much of the year. Rick valued being hospitable and generous throughout his life and was known to many for his fatherly guidance and dedication to sharing Christ with those he encountered. He was active and cherished by two faith communities, first in City Hill Church (Eden Prairie, MN) and later in life in Northern Lakes Community Church (Cumberland, WI). His family will hold a virtual service stream at 2:00pm CST on June 27th, 2020; live stream will be available at andrewnorell.com/ricknorellfuneral/. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in both MN & WI.
