Plice, William Andrew 96, passed away May 10, 2020, in Golden Valley, MN. Interment took place May 13, 2020 at Hillside Cemetery in Minneapolis. He is survived by his wife, Pauline Adel (Lundell) Plice, four children (William A. Plice III, Shohana (Susan) Werbner, Steven S. Plice, and Robert K. Plice) as well as grandchildren and great-grand-children. His first wife and the mother of his children, Dorothy Elizabeth (Russell) Plice, passed away in 2004. Born March 24, 1924 in Chicago, Dr. Plice was a WWII veteran and was awarded the Bronze Star for valor. He earned a bachelor's degree in engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology, and master's and Ph.D. degrees in engineering and computer science from the University of Minnesota. He was employed as an engineer at Bell and Howell, Maico, and Honeywell, and as a professor at the U. of M. An avid outdoorsman and craftsman, he built a house for his family in Waukegan, IL, before moving to Minnesota in 1956. Later in his life, he built a lakeside second home near Brainerd, MN, where he enjoyed many summers in retirement. Dr. Plice was an active, longtime member of Salem Covenant Church of New Brighton, and was a generous philanthropist. At the time of his passing he was a resident of Covenant Living in Golden Valley.
