Flavin (nee Stine), Marilyn "Lynn" 91, passed away 10:15 p.m. Friday, April 24 in Minneapolis. She died from complications related to COVID19. Lynn was born on March 14, 1929 in Peoria, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, James T. Flavin, Jr and by her parents, Glen and Merna Stine of Springfield, and brother, Clark Stine. She is survived by her brother Robert (wife Carolyn) Stine of Springfield and by her three children: Michael (wife Amy) of New Providence, NJ; David (wife Jodi) of Brooklyn Park, MN; and Janet Linquist (husband Tim) of Bismarck, ND. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She will be missed by her extended family and her many friends and neighbors. A graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University, Lynn was an educator, musician and artist. She was a dedicated member of the Prairie Community Church. In her later life, she and her husband traveled to Nigeria where they served as missionaries for 2 years. She also spent many summers on short-term mission trips to rural Mexico. More than anything else, Lynn was a firm believer in the resurrected Jesus Christ and because of that, her family is confident that she lives on with Him in heaven and that all who put their faith and trust in Jesus will see her again. Due to the restrictions imposed by the Corona virus pandemic, a service to celebrate Lynn's life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Compassion.com.
