Evander, Robert "Bob" M. age 73, of St. Louis Park; devoted husband, father, grandpa, and kind soul, died in the arms of his loving wife of 35 years on April 3, 2020. Surviving family members include his wife Mary Ann; sons, Jeff Evander, Greg (Renee) Evander; stepchildren, Paul (Melissa) Moskalik and Andrea (Roderick) Morris; seven grandchildren, Joshua, Alyssa, Elijah, Sophia; Ada and Ian; Jimmy; in-laws, Jean Vong (Werner) and John (Lucy) Vong and many other dear family members. Beloved cats, Chloe and Blanca. Bob distinguished himself in service to our nation while serving in the Vietnam War, as an Army Aero-Scout observer in the Air Cavalry Squadron for which he was awarded the Silver Star for valor. He enjoyed a career as a software engineer at several large corporations prior to retirement. Bob made a lasting impression on everyone he spent time with for his vibrant, gentle and generous spirit, and for his ability to see the positive in everyone and everything. He was happiest when serving others, including volunteering at the Minnesota VA Medical Center and treasured the relationships he formed while there. He and Mary Ann were active members of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in St. Paul where he served in leadership roles. Bob will be remembered for his playful spirit and his legendary chili. A memorial service and celebration of life will be scheduled when it is safe to gather. Memorial contributions in Bob's honor may be made to St. Matthew's Episcopal Church or to the family
