Peterson (Roscoe), Margaret Del Age 89, passed away surrounded by family on March 27, 2020. Margaret was born to George and Madeline Roscoe on July 28, 1930, in Eagle Grove, IA. While growing up on her parent’s farm, she and her 3 sisters each owned and took care of their own horse. She enjoyed entering her horse in competitions and shows, which led to her lifelong appreciation of them.  Margaret enjoyed relating the times when she and her sisters would try out the latest horse riding tricks that they had seen in western matinee movies and then try the tricks on their own horses.  They tried jumping off from tree branches and other structures onto their horses, among other challenges, and got quite good!  Margaret was a very talented artist and enjoyed drawing, painting, and sewing.  After graduating from Alden (MN) High School in 1949, she began taking long distance graphic design classes. However, she soon turned her focus toward employment as a telephone operator in Fort Dodge, IA.  During one of her bus trips to see her parents (who now lived in Alden, MN), she and the young Minnesota Transit bus driver, Goodrich Peterson, caught one another’s eye. Goodrich's schedule took him through Iowa and down into the southern states. Over coffee one day, they got to know each other, he took down her address, and they wrote back and forth. After several months of writing and trips back and forth to see each other, Goodrich proposed, and Margaret accepted. They married in 1952 and made their home in Hopkins, MN.  Margaret later found employment in the Accounts Payable department of Red Owl / SuperValu’s main offices, and later transferred to the company’s Credit Union.  After being with the company for more than 30 years, she retired in 1992.  One of the talents that Margaret enjoyed and maintained until her retirement was her sewing abilities.  She used her early 1950’s Singer Seamstress electric sewing machine to create everything from clothes for the family when the kids were young, doll clothes, curtains for the house, and even stitched the interior upholstery (OEM upholstery material found in a St. Paul warehouse) for her son’s 1960 Chevrolet Belair.  Following retirement, Margaret and Goodrich toured the country seeing many states.  They also enjoyed trips to Hawaii, Alaska, Canada, and Mexico.  In 2004 Margaret and Goodrich moved from the Minnetonka / Hopkins area to make Big Lake, MN their home. Margaret loved to be surrounded by family and friends, and especially loved getting her family together for the holidays.  Family was her priority.  She had a loving and charismatic personality, always ready to give someone a smile.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Maxine and Barbara, and her husband Goodrich. She is survived by her sister Charlotte (Roscoe) Rasmussen; her loving children Gary Peterson (Ginny), Lisa Fuller (Frank), Edward Peterson (Joyce Block), and Bradley Peterson (Lynn); grandchildren Leanne Landrum (Caleb), Daniel Peterson, Amber Fuller, Chelsea Fuller, Courtney LaBruyere (Jaime), Kevin Peterson (Madelinn), Scott Peterson, and Sarah Peterson; great grandchildren Liam Peterson, Callie LaBruyere, Charlotte LaBruyere, Quinn Peterson; and 13 nieces and nephews.  She will live on in our hearts forever. A memorial service is being planned at a future date.
