Johnson, Rita Ann (Freese) 90 years young of Maple Grove, MN passed away February 6 2020. She was born 2/22/1929 in Breckenridge, MN, home of the Cowboys. Rita loved family, good food, socializing, music, parties, and theater plays with friends. Her blue eyes could light up a room. She enjoyed a good debate and wanted to be informed on all topics. Her good sense of justice, honesty and curiosity was genuine and authentic and will be missed. She was preceded in death by her parents Myrtle Lehman Freese and Lawrence August Freese, husband Arthur F. Johnson and brother Donald Freese. Survived by sister Annette Wahl (John) and special cousin Darlene "Tootie" Knauff (Homer), children Bartley (Rosemary), Paula Poppen (Jim), Craig (Terese), Mark (Peggy), Diane (Kirk); grandchildren Joseph Poppen, Christina Poppen, Andrew Johnson (Caitlyn), Per Lundmark (Betsy), Daniel Johnson, Melanie Vastine (Austen) and 2 great grandchildren Josie and Atlas Johnson. And many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Memorials in lieu of flowers: Yellow Tree Theater, JA Wedum Hospice Residence.
