Beverly passed away at age 89 in Roseville, Minnesota on Thursday, January 2, 2020. She was born October 19, 1930 in Alexandria, Minnesota. Beverly was preceded in death by parents Edward & Emma Lommen, brother Adrian (Rusty) and sister Arlene (Hollis) Groves.

Beverly will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Jerry Dean Fischer, of 68 years and sons Jerry Lee (Yoko), Brian (Jackie), Bradley and daughter Kristin (Scott) Schnuckle, grandchildren Jason (Asuko) and Paul Fischer, Aaron (Alison) and Derek Fischer and Emma, Jesse and Anna Schnuckle, great-grandchildren Emma Fischer, Austin, Cayden, Jaxxon, Anders and Asher Fischer, and step great-granddaughter Lilliana Feehan. She will also be lovingly remembered by brothers, Dale (Audrey) Lommen and Paul (Lynne) Lommen and many nieces and nephews.

Bev graduated from Alexandria High School, where she was a drum majorette. She met the love of her life, Jerry Dean Fischer, when the two of them worked at Cargill in Minneapolis. They were married June 17, 1951 in Alexandria. Bev and Jerry resided in Columbia Heights, MN for 54 years. She was employed as a mailroom manager at Northwestern Products, where she created a very fun environment with a hard-working crew.

The family made many a camping trip all over the upper Midwest until they purchased a lakeshore lot on Lake Mary in Alexandria. They bought a second house that was moved to the lake, which became their beloved cabin. That was one of Beverly’s favorite spots and she always looked forward to spending summers ‘up at the lake.’

Beverly’s joys were her family and friends, church, dancing, gardening, painting and collecting antiques. She was a member of a Norwegian heritage club, Valdres Samband, and loved her 3 trips to Norway.

Beverly was a very caring and incredible person whose real interest was in you! She was a superb wife, mother and grandmother who had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. Her presence will be forever missed.

A celebration of Beverly’s life will be held at First Lutheran Church of Columbia Heights on Saturday, February 15, with the visitation at 1:00, service at 2:00 and a meal to follow. The church is located at 1555 40th Ave. NE, Columbia Heights, MN 55421.
