Brekke, Carole Ann Age 72 of Burnsville passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 after living through a courageous battle of Alzheimer's. Carole Ann Brekke was born on December 31, 1946 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She attended Bloomington High School and graduated with the class of 1964 where she was highly involved in the home economics department. She was married to Douglas Brekke, her high school sweetheart, on January 21, 1967. She was a devoted and treasured wife for nearly 53 years. They raised two children, Aaron (Chelley Brekke McLear) and Sarah (Bob Ertl) within the Burnsville-Apple Valley community. Carole Ann lived an incredibly rich life, anchored in her deep faith in Jesus Christ. She pursued her life with passion and many talents all while serving others. Carole Ann was deeply rooted in Hosanna! Church in Lakeville where she was a charter member and involved in preparing for the very first service in 1980. During her membership, she served on many boards and committees and came alongside many people and families, intimately and sincerely. She even drove the church bus filled with the youth group members cross country and back on many mission trips. By profession, she was an ISD 196 school bus driver for 23 years. She spent many years involved in BSF (Bible Study Fellowship), Cursillo Christian ministry, T.E.C. (Teens Encounter Christ) where she served in many leadership roles including the board, was President of the Minneapolis Men's Garden Club and her garden was featured on many garden tours. She loved her family and friends and was often found baking, cooking, sewing, gardening and creating just to show them love. One of her greatest passions and loves was her role of being a grandma to Sophie, Madeline and Cecelia. They cherished her love, warmth, smile, her teachings of faith and Jesus and her infamous phrase, and greeting card signature, "I love you but, Jesus loves you more". Carole Ann was amazing in so many ways and a gift to all. She is preceded in death by her parents Donald and Jerry Jamesgaard. A celebration of life, love and faith will be held on Wednesday, November 13 at 11 a.m. at the Hosanna! Church in Lakeville, MN. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the hour of celebration. Lunch will be served in the atrium following the service.
