Eitel, Priscilla 95, lately of Brookings SD, earlier of Edina MN, passed away on Monday June 10 in Great Falls MT. Priscilla was born March 2, 1924, in Brookings SD, to George and Phyllis (Reid) Gilbertson. Priscilla grew up in Brookings SD and attended the Eastman School of Music in Rochester NY, majoring in harp performance. Priscilla married her beloved husband, Butler Eitel, on September 2, 1947. Priscilla was an essential partner in Butler's noted musical career with the USAF Band, in the Edina MN public schools, at Macalester College, at UM in Missoula MT, and at Interlochen National Music Camp MI. Throughout their musical life together, Priscilla continued to perform the major harp repertoire, as well as to teach. In retirement Priscilla and Butler enjoyed reading, traveling, and visiting their children. They attended First Presbyterian Church of Brookings. Priscilla was a 70-year member of PEO and a member of Women's Club. Priscilla developed great artistry as a quilter. Priscilla and Butler were married for nearly 62 years. Priscilla was preceded in death in 2009 by her husband. She is survived by their children, Sylda (Brian) Pfile of Great Falls MT, Elizabeth (John) Schaefer of Alexandria VA, and David (Julie) Eitel of Auburn CA; by 13 grandchildren; by 44 great-grandchildren; and by 3 great-great-grandchildren.
