Ryan, Michael Joseph passed away on March 27, 2019 in his home in Sun Lakes, Arizona. His 40 year battle with diabetes unexpectedly ended his life at the age of 73. Preceded in death by parents, John and Lenore (Reagan) Ryan, and sister, Kathleen (Gene) Taube. Survived by his son, David (Amy) Ryan; daughters, Colleen (Tim Anderson) Reden-baugh-Anderson, Erin (Seth) Kaste, Kathleen (Erich) Heneke; grandchildren, Brooke, Brady, Braden, Marissa, Ava, Jonah, Carson, Gabriel, Ryan; step-grandchildren, Sarah and Matthew; brother, John (Mary) Ryan; and many adored nieces and nephews. He was born on December 13, 1945 in Minneapolis, MN, the third child born to John and Lenore Ryan. He grew up in South Minneapolis and graduated from Benilde High School in 1963. He served in the U.S. Army from 1965, until he was honorably discharged in 1967, after serving his country in Vietnam. Mike then began his career in the auto business in 1967 as a night cashier. He married Bernette "Bernie" Miller in 1969, and together they had four children. Mike and Bernie remained married for 34 years. Mike held a 20 year successful career with Quality Lincoln Mercury in Bloomington, MN. In 2003 Mike divorced, and shortly after married Deloris Paulsen. He continued his car sales career with various dealerships across the Twin Cities until his retirement in 2011. Dee and Mike later moved to Phoenix, AZ where he could fulfill his lifetime dream of year-round golf. In 2018, Dee moved back to MN when they divorced, and Mike remained in Arizona. Mike had a passion for hunting, golf and sports that involved the Vikings, Twins and North Stars. He was a devout Catholic and believed that his faith in God was central to who he was as a person. He loved to watch and play golf, and was often heard sharing stories of his children and grandchildren. He was a man of firm opinions, firm handshakes and incredible bear hugs. The day prior to his passing, he played the best golf game of his life.
