Krause, Chester C. "Chet" 100, Scottsdale, AZ formerly of Edina, February 10, 2019. Born in Rush City, MN April 16, 1918 the oldest of 8 children born of Carl W. and Celia (Muenzer) Krause. Chet grew up in Wadena, MN, graduating in the class of 1936. In order to finance his first year at the University of Minnesota he worked at a drug store in a neighboring town for a year before enrolling. He graduated in 1941, took a public accounting position and prepared to take the CPA exam. He received his CPA in May 1945 being recognized as the youngest in the state at that time to pass all of the requirements. It was at this time that he met Rosalyn Bezdichek of LeCenter, MN. They married October 20, 1945 at the St. Paul Cathedral. His first position after public accounting was with Robert O. Naegele of Naegele Outdoor Advertising. Although circumstances dictated that his tenure with Naegele was short, Chet and Bob remained close friends. He spent the balance of his career with Carlson Companies. He started his career with the then known Gold Bond Stamp Company in 1957. A devasting plane crash in 1978 and subsequent long recovery from his injuries had Chet thinking of retirement and so he did. Chet and Rosie left for the Valley of the Sun where his first task was to write his autobiography which is treasured by his family. He enjoyed reading, fishing, golf, travel and most of all being with his family. He loved spending time at his beloved Lake Sylvia. He had a wide range of interests and opinions which he gladly shared. He once said you could learn something even from a trashy book. He was always a gentleman and well loved by all. Chet was a devoted Catholic and a long time member of Our Lady of Grace in Edina and later St. Patrick's in Scottsdale. The family would like to thank his helpers Carol, Cora, Linda, Nancy, Mary and Paul for cooking, chauffeuring and making his last six years interesting.
