Brown, Marian age 92 passed away peacefully on December 29, 2018. She was born on October 22, 1926 in Minneapolis. Preceded in death by her mother Elvina Cobb, stepfather Walter Cobb, sister Genevieve Nelson, husband Howard Brown and son Michael Brown. Eldore "Bud" Nelson, brother. Marian is survived by her sons Ronald (Dawn), Howard Jr. (Catherine), Mitchell (Karen), Harold "Pete" (Marilyn), her daughter Genevieve (Michael) Smith. She is also survived by her grandchildren Bruce, Ronald Jr., Howard IV, Christina, Benjamin, Marlo (Theron) Green, Mitchell Jr. (LaDonna), Melissa, Melinda, Nathan, Kelsey, Kortina (Rajiem), Jeffrey (Molly), Michael (Stephanie) Dunn and daughter-in-law Toni Brown. She is survived by 19 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren. We would like to mention the honorary children Stan Knox, Billy Vaughn and Ruthann Nix. Life long neighbors the Grissam family. She will be missed immensely by many. Mom worked a variety of jobs, she was 2nd cook at the 620 Club that was on block E before it was Moby Dicks. She also worked in the kitchen at Lutheran Deaconess Hospital. She also worked at Hospital Linen Service. Then she decided to go back to Lutheran Deaconess Hospital as a Central Supply Clerk. From here she decided to retire. Mom enjoyed life to the fullest. She always enjoyed boating with her husband and children. Going to the cabin in Emily, MN. She loved to go on trips, with her husband they went to Gardena, CA and Chicago, IL. She has gone on many trips with her children. In 1989 she had decided that she had enough with MN winters and moved to CA to be with her daughter and her family. She loved living in CA, she had too much time on her hands so she decided to get a part time job at the local high school as a cafeteria helper. The kids just loved having her around as she was the ultimate jokester! In 1997 it was decided to move back to MN, she was very upset with her daughter. But she agreed to move back. Here she again started to travel, she enjoyed going on the bowling trips. She was a great cheerleader for her bowling teams. She was an avid embroiderer, she made beautiful baby blankets. Service to be held on Friday 1/18/19 at noon with the visitation starting at 11am at Brookdale Covenant Church located at 5139 Brooklyn Blvd, Brooklyn Center, MN 55429. Interment will be at Crystal Lake Cemetery, Minneapolis following the service.
