Hollander, Roger W. Age of 84 of Minneapolis, died peacefully on November 15, 2018. Preceded in death by his parents, Hildur and Roy Hollander; brother, John; and niece, Carrie Popp. He is survived by his sons, Sprague and Scott; sisters, Ann Wyse and Lynn Hollander; grandchildren, Jack, Nicholas, and Susannah Hollander, and Annalee Serwa-Hollander; daughter-in-law, Antonia; the mother of his sons, Jerre Moriarty; and nephews, Steve and Jim Wyse. Roger grew up in Hopkins and attended high school at Blake School. After graduating from Yale University in 1956, Roger began working at Hollander Publishing, a small family business serving the automotive recycling industry, which he developed over the years into a modern information services company. Roger retired from business in 1992, relocated to Sheridan and then Cody, Wyoming, and focused more intently on his diverse interests in world cultures, architecture, music, and art. During this period, he became an internationally recognized collector of antique Indian and Chinese textiles. Roger loved the outdoors - mountaineering, skiing, hunting, fishing, and hiking. He taught us all to appreciate and nurture beauty in all its forms. He will be remembered as a loving father, brother, grand-father, and friend. Memorial will be held at 12, noon, on December 28th at Lakewood Memorial Chapel, 3600 Hennepin Ave. S., Minneapolis. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to The Nature Conservancy.
