Syverson, Gail Lenore age 81, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, died peacefully October 8, 2018, with family by her side. Gail was born April 6, 1937 in Rothsay, Minnesota, the daughter of the late Hilmar Syverson and Antonie (Holt) Syverson. When she was ten, her family moved to Minneapolis. Gail graduated from North High School, and worked as a stenographer. Gail travelled within the US and to Europe and Turkey, making friends around the world. She also kept friends from high school and early days in Rothsay, where she was remembered as a beautiful, long limbed blonde girl in braids, running across the prairie. Gail took her religion very seriously, not talking about it, but trying to live it. Having little money herself, she still gave money to others whenever she could. She saved a boy, stabbed by a gang, at risk of her own life. Gail loved so many things: Travel, music, poetry, and movies. All this despite a decades-long, painful struggle with mental illness. Gail was preceded in death by her dearest friend, Jim Turner; her parents, three sisters, and three brothers. She is survived by 16 nieces and nephews, great and great, great nieces and nephews. One niece, close in age, was more like a sister, and they still called themselves the "Syverson Girls". Our beloved aunt will be sorely missed.
