Lazarus, Barry Age 91, passed away on April 15, 2018. Preceded in death by parents, Abe and Dorothy Lazarus; daughter Linda Carney; and grandson Jacob Goldberg. He is survived by his loving wife, Joan Lazarus; sister Joan Kalkin; daughters Amy Lazarus and Leslie Lazarus, sons-in-law, Ed Carney, Gene Goldberg, and Tad Shrantz; grandchildren Alexandra Dunn, Benjamin Goldberg, Matthew Carney, Mikaela Oberlander, Meg Carney, Olivia Shrantz and Sam Shrantz and great grandchildren Hazel Johnson, Nova Johnson and Duke Sakalarios. Barry graduated from Weequahic High School and attended Yale University and Kent State College. Barry owned and operated Fall Mountain Furniture for 35 years until his retirement. At Fall Mountain, Barry combined his design skills and love of working with wood to manufacture fixtures for retail stores. Barry had many interests and hobbies, including music which he studied during his high school years at the Julliard School of Music. Throughout his life, he spent many hours entertaining himself and friends and family at the piano. He loved many forms of athletic activities including golf, skiing, fishing and watching the Patriots play and win the Super Bowl. His favorite pastime was spending time at his house at Lake Spofford where he enjoyed taking friends and family on his boat to waterski and soak up the beautiful scenery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Jake Goldberg Memorial Scholarship Fund at the University of Michigan which provides tuition support for sports management students in need at the University of Michigan.
